Mo Dingge, Chairman of China National Chemical Corporation, Meets with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi

On October 12, 2025 (local time), Mo Dingge, Chairman of China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation (CNCEC), met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Presidential Palace in Cairo. The two sides held in-depth discussions on accelerating the construction of the Egypt Soda Ash Project, deepening cooperation in the energy, chemical, and infrastructure sectors, and promoting the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt’s Vision 2030 to advance local industrialization.

President Sisi spoke highly of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation’s (CNCEC) comprehensive capabilities, as well as the professionalism and sense of responsibility it has demonstrated in key projects in Egypt. He commended the achievements of the Egypt Soda Ash Project in optimizing the construction schedule and deepening localization initiatives. He noted that Egypt is an active participant and staunch supporter of the Belt and Road Initiative, and that since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, the two countries have achieved fruitful results in their cooperation. Egypt possesses distinct geographical advantages and is currently making every effort to advance industrial diversification and the transition toward a green, low-carbon economy. China National Chemical Corporation is a partner in which the Egyptian government places great trust, and its business development direction aligns closely with Egypt’s national development plans. He expressed hope that China National Chemical Corporation would further expand its investments in Egypt, deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of chemicals, new energy, and infrastructure, and promote the implementation of more high-standard, high-quality projects. Egypt will provide comprehensive support for the smooth implementation of these projects and work hand in hand with China National Chemical Corporation to inject new momentum into the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China.

Mo Dingge expressed his sincere gratitude to President Sisi and the Egyptian government for their long-standing care and support for China National Chemical Engineering, and briefed them on the progress of the Egypt soda ash project. He noted that Egypt is a key hub country along the Belt and Road and is currently at a critical stage of modernization, having achieved remarkable economic development.
